Award entries

To a prospective customer, an award-winning track record is reassuring. If you’ve won an award or two, you must be doing something very right – right?

You probably don’t realise how great you are, or that you genuinely do things better than the rest. You spend your time running your business – that’s your job. You don’t spend time taking an outsider’s viewpoint – that’s our job.

Award entry writing requires a global view – a perspective you may not have. We once tried to persuade a client to enter an award in an unusual category for them. For two years we urged them to put in a submission for this award, and they declined. They let us put them forward for other awards, most of which they  won – but not this one.

The third year, we just wrote the submission and showed it to them. They read it, smiled and nodded. When they were shortlisted for the award, we coached them in how to make their presentation to the judging panel. Did they win?

Of course they did, because we could see and add up all the great things that they did which they simply took for granted, so we knew how to tell the story. Over the years we helped them to win a whole host of awards – about a dozen or so.

When their MD left and formed his own company, we helped him to win awards too. We love a good award entry – and judges seem keen on our award entry writing too.
